The Opportunity:
Goodman is seeking a professional, skilled individual for our Materials Manager in Waller, TX. Forklift skills a must. A materials manager locates vendors of materials, supplies or equipment where they determine the availability or terms of sales. Researches and analyzes the market and transportation delivery systems in order to assess current and future material availability. Maintains records of goods that are ordered and received. Represents the company in formulating policies and negotiating contracts with suppliers. Have duties common to all managers, such as interviewing and hiring staff members or overseeing the training of staff members. This position will manage materials function to achieve inventory goals and ensure daily production schedules are met. Also involved in tracking of market prices on commodities, PSI reports, special order process management and other key metrics. Responsibilities
May Include:
Collaborate with other managers to determine supply needs
Purchase supplies and materials according to specifications
Coordinate and supervise receiving and warehousing procedures
Oversee distribution of supplies in the organization
Control inventory levels and ensure availability of material during emergencies
Supervise, evaluate, and coach subordinates
Keep detailed records on procurement activity, materials quantity, specifications etc.
Assist in forecasting to plan future orders
Manage plant materials function on a day to day basis to achieve inventory, cost, and production goals
Select, train, develop, mentor, assess, and discipline employees
Pro-actively develop working relationships, rapport, and trust with suppliers, employees, and internal customers
Manage product transitions, pilots, and engineering changes
Proactively investigates, learns, prepares, and implements solutions to inventory, delivery, cost, and quality issues
Develop and maintains required metrics and other support including inventory adequacy and accuracy
Maintain accurate inventories (location, quantity, and count) and use records to be aware of inventories at all times
Maintain purchasing exception reports
Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
5-10 years of managing materials function for a large, high volume manufacturing plant is required
Experience working with MAPICS is required
Proficient use of MRP systems is required
High School Diploma or GED required
College degree preferred with BSBA, BSME, BSIE or other appropriate degree preferred but not required
CPM or MAPICS certification is preferred

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
