Automotive Mechanic

Workforce Solutions' On-the-Job Training program offers eligible participants an opportunity to earn as they learn while employers benefit from a partial wage reimbursement during the training period. On-the-Job Training (OJT) focuses on jobs that involve new technologies, production, service, or additional skills for full-time positions (30 hours or more) and paying at least $11 per hour or more.

The selected candidate will be trained as an Automotive Mechanic. This position will assist technician mechanics in performing technical activities.

Essential Functions Include:

  • Diagnose brake and hydraulic, exhaust, primary and/or advanced fuel
  • ignition and electrical, suspension and alignment, air conditioning and computer systems.
  • Adequately explain technical diagnoses and needed repairs to non-mechanical individuals which may include employees and customers on
  • an as-required basis.
  • Continuously learn new technical information and techniques in formal training sessions to stay abreast with rapidly changing automotive technology.
  • Keep store management aware of mechanical repair problems as they occur.
  • Maintain an organized neat and safe bay.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
