Goodman is seeking a professional, skilled individual for our Design Engineer - Light Commerical position. Design, analyze, and document development of new Light Commercial products and modifications of Light Commercial products from requirements provided, focusing on the needs of the North American Marketplace. Develop kits and accessories to support North American Marketplace. Create and sustain specifications using engineering analysis and judgment. Oversee development and testing of engineering prototypes. Development of new products, revise, sustain HVAC products, utilizing knowledge of mechanical engineering principles.
Develop and manage project schedules related to existing product design modifications.
Analyze product designs using tolerance, thermodynamic, finite element, and computational fluid dynamic analyses.
Document product designs by preparing bills of materials, cost analyses, drawings, and engineering change requests.
Assist in redesigning internal components to improve overall long term system quality, improve efficiency and reduce cost.
Develop engineering solutions to product related issues through problem solving and root cause analysis techniques.
Actively participate on cross functional teams to launch new products, product modifications, resolve issues, communicate issues clearly and support product improvements in a timely manner.
Coordinate and communicate project work internally with the department and externally with other departments to ensure ontime completion of projects within budget.
Develop relationships internally within the organization and externally that allow the team to succeed in launching products.
Work with suppliers to improve quality and resolve product issues while keeping procurement involved in each step.
Assist manufacturing with launch of product modifications and issue resolution. Drive continuous improvement projects related to product design and quality. Perform other job duties as required by Supervisor.
6-8 years experience
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
Comprehensive understanding and knowledge of mechanical design theory and practice.
At least 6 years of experience with product design in the automotive, appliance, or HVAC industry (preferred)
Experience with design for six sigma (DFSS), design failure modes and effects analysis (DFMEA), design of experiments methodology, tolerance analysis, value engineering principles, and parts standardization principles
Black belt or green belt certification (preferred).
Experience with engineering change processes and CAD systems
Knowledge of specifications and standards used in the HVAC industry (preferred).
Software skills including Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Project.
Effective analytical and problemsolving skills
Effective communication skills - both oral and written
Effective project management skills.
Strong interpersonal skills.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
